Ing. Enea Mattei S.p.A., with its site in Vimodrone, in the province of Milan, currently has two Business units operating in the compressed air and energy sectors, which have allowed the company to establish itself as one of the leading ones in the production, marketing and assistance of air compressors, rotary vane air compressors, electrical generators and cogeneration units, for industrial use.
The competitive advantage that has enabled Mattei to become a well established and leading company in Europe, America, Africa, Asia and Oceania is mainly its capitalized know-how, in over 90 years of activity and in its constant development of innovative and excellent quality products. The company is indeed able to meet any requirement, thanks to the world’s largest range of rotary lubricated vane air compressors, with power from 1.5 to 250 kW. Furthermore, on customer’s request, the company designs and creates tailored solutions, for special uses.
Internationalisation and a philosophy focused on reliability and customer satisfaction represent the company's strategic directions. Today Mattei is widely established in over 40 countries, with over 100 distributors and assistance centres. The company, which currently has two factories, respectively based in Vimodrone and Verdello-Zingonia (Bergamo), produces and sells 6,500 rotary vane air compressors a year, exporting over 50% of its output.

Mattei, favouring the use of such avant-garde methodology, has promoted a new industrial philosophy in its company, which allows to limit waste, up to produce none of them. Kai-Zen or improving change takes place concretely with a products design that previously considers the problems regarding their production, a Just in Time stock management policy and an approach towards Total Quality Management, for a more rational use of plants. This innovative system has also favoured the introduction of softwares especially developed for Mattei and technologically advanced plants, as automated work centres and high precision machine tools, most of which fitted with numerical control unit.
