At Mattei the railway sector has always been one of our strategic markets. Our experience in this sector has led us to develop important and long-lasting collaborations, both through small batch projects with important manufacturers based in Italy and Europe, and through large volume, multi-year supply contracts with international giants such as Alstom group.
Therefore, it comes as no surprise that we consider the Innotrans fair in Berlin, Germany one of the most important events in the Mattei Group calendar.
In the upcoming edition in September, we will be taking center-stage with the unveiling of the all new RVR series of compressors designed specifically for the railway market.
The RVR series is the result of a significant development effort from our dedicated in-house Rail and Transportation division. With the Milan Plant having successfully attained the ISO/TS 22163 (ex-IRIS) certification, and our Baltimore USA facility allowing access to Buy America bids, the new series of compressors can be supplied to Tier 1 manufacturers across the globe as a complete Air Supply Unit package or to end users as retrofit systems for existing, unreliable and costly screw and piston compressors.
The new RVRs feature a compact design and a small footprint, providing superior durability and reliability over time, with no need to replace the compressor over the full lifetime of the rolling stock, and the lowest energy consumption available.
In terms of waste and energy consumption, the RVR is already at the top of its game. Currently we are looking to push the RVR series eco-friendliness even further by developing a long lasting, highly bio-degradable, non-toxic lubricant specific for Rail applications.
