The careful approach, the high design and assembly standards, the quality of the components and the advanced technology of the processing place Mattei compressors at the top of its category.

It has been called Electric Alè and it is the pride and joy of Carlo Rampini SpA, a leading company in the design and production of medium-sized, eco-friendly buses for urban transport.

Launched on the market at the end of 2009, Electric Alè is an interesting product in its category for its transport capacity and operating time. Thanks to its large capacity electric batteries, it can travel 150 kilometres in town traffic at two thirds of the load with just one recharge, covering one complete work shift for an urban bus.

“We secured some important contracts in Europe," says Giuseppe Lepore, Marketing Director at Carlo Rampini SpA, adding that "In Nice we provided both electric and diesel powered vehicles, with identical features. In comparison, Electric Alè is much more performing in terms of reduction of consumption, noise levels and maintenance costs. The council's public transport company in Vienna purchased 12 vehicles.”

All pneumatic systems fitted on Electric Alè are fed by Mattei compressors. Mattei's vane technology not only ensures quality compressed air, but also low noise levels thanks to the low rotation speed and limited number of moving components.

“The quietness of the vehicle when it is running is a top prerogative on hybrid and electric vehicles,” says Giuseppe Lepore. “This feature convinced us to choose Mattei's compressors to feed the pneumatic systems on our buses.” The RVM range stands out for its compact size and for being lightweight, which makes installation easier - another strong suit for Mattei's compressors.

“In recent years we have provided Carlo Rampini SpA with some 50 RVM15 compressors," says Flavio Molinari, Sales Director Italy at Ing. Enea Mattei SpA, adding that "This model can provide the amount of air required (150 litres of air per minute) to feed the pneumatic systems, including the braking system and suspension and, at the same time, it adapts to the compact size of the Rampini buses.”

“The range of RVM compressors is specifically devoted to use on vehicles. The careful approach, down to the smallest detail, the high design and assembly standards, the quality of the components used and the advanced technology of the mechanical processing currently place Mattei compressors at the top of its category,” says Flavio Molinari.
