THE MATTEI RESPONSE TO COVID-19

Written by Ing. Enea Mattei S.p.A. | 19 May 2021

This is how Mattei has faced up to the challenge of Covid-19; aware of the importance of
people’s safety as our primary concern, yet having to develop means of operating that allow us to not lose touch with our market for compressed air production technology.

As an international company with offices all over the world it has been challenging. Covid-19 first hit China, forcing the closure of our branch office for two months, leaving us to contend with procurement and supply-chain challenges. Then in Italy, where thanks to the fact our
compressors are used in essential supply chains such as food and pharmaceuticals, we implemented a closure for just two weeks. But then in May the United States was hit terribly hard creating lots of difficulties for our subsidiary. But thanks to the collaborative efforts of everyone we have come through it all.

We immediately implemented safety directives and introduced all necessary requirements
to protect the health of our employees. Flexible and remote working has been implemented
wherever possible. We have implemented social-distancing both in meetings and within
production. We have pushed ahead with new forms of communication with our market,
intensively expanding our social media activity, alongside a series of webinars which had
fantastic success in terms of participation numbers.

We have been successful in keeping our employees safe and over the last few months we
are seeing unmistakable signs of recovery both through an increased request for special
applications and strong growth in our Industrial Division order intake.
