Robust, efficient, Made-in-Italy and 'tailor-made': Mattei compressors are also popular in France, as confirmed by Emiliano Rispoli, business development manager of CH4Process, an engineering company specialized in the biogas and energy sectors.
The company, with headquarters in Saint Ouen and a workshop in Betheny, was founded in 2015 and is a 360° provider of basic and detailed engineering services for complex gas projects, process optimization & plant revamping, on-site technical support for biogas plants, special equipment design and manufacturing such as complex gases compression packages, Biogas preparation and treatment systems, maintenance services, and component replacement.
The collaboration between Mattei and CH4Process founder, Maxime Brissaud, dates back to 2008, and in 2010, it became a full partnership. From this partnership, around those years, the first range of Mattei ATEX gas compressors was born. "The robustness of Mattei compressors, their efficiency and higher performance than those of competitors due to rotary vane technology convinced us that it was the right choice," Rispoli explains. He continues, "In addition, the Mattei team is able to work with us on product and plant customization and to create skids (modular plants designed to facilitate the work of complex industrial structures) built on customers' needs.”
Demand in the biogas sector is also growing beyond the Alps, and at CH4Process, there is an awareness that it is possible to seize significant market share because of the superior features of Mattei gas compressors. "High performance is an attractive element," Rispoli comments. "From a technical point of view, managing compression upstream of the microturbines and upstream of the gas purge systems between 10 and 12 barg is very attractive for us. To fully be able to cover our market, the next step for us is to develop together with Mattei a new line, able to operate at 14 and 15 barg pressures "
Also significant in choosing to distribute Mattei's products and concentrate on vane technology are the low maintenance and durability of the products, as well as the technical specifications and compliance with Atex (Explosive Atmospheres) Directives.
Within the French market, pricing is affordable, particularly when the product's life cycle is taken into consideration and not just the cost of acquisition. "The fact that Mattei compressors are designed and manufactured in Italy is also an added value for end customers," comments Rispoli.
The partnership between CH4 Process and Mattei is based on two essential assumptions: on the one hand, the quality of the products defined by Rispoli as customizable, durable and high-performance, and on the other hand, the willingness of the Vimodrone-based company to make the skills and resources of the Innovation & Industrialization department available to create tailored solutions for customers.
