MATTEI 2016 CALENDAR: MAKE WAY FOR YOUNG, CREATIVE STUDENTS

At a December 16th ceremony, the Academy of Fine Arts students presented the Mattei 2016 Calendar that was created after a prestigious collaboration between the Academy’s students and Ing. Enea Mattei S.p.A.

MILAN, Italy (December 17, 2015) – On December 16, 2015, the Academy of Fine Arts in Santa Giulia, Brescia presented Ing. Enea Mattei’s official 2016 Calendar during a brief ceremony. Mattei, a leading manufacturer of rotary vane air compressors, partnered with the Academy of Fine Arts to develop Mattei’s annual company calendar.

During the event, the students who participated in the project explained the different concepts represented and techniques utilized to develop the calendar. The students also gifted a digital version of the calendar to Ing. Enea Mattei.

Mattei wanted to take an artistic and creative approach with our 2015 calendar, so it made sense to collaborate with Academy of Fine Arts” said Silvia Barone, Marketing Manager at Ing. Enea Mattei S.p.A. “Our calendar is distributed to our entire commercial and client network throughout Italy and abroad. It’s a representation of Mattei for an entire year, so it’s incredibly important that the calendar conveys a strong message. For 2016, we wanted to illustrate that even industrial products, like a Mattei Compressor, can be considered a work of art, on paper and in reality.”

The Academy’s Graphic Design students began their creative process by learning more about compressed air, its applications and Mattei’s exclusive rotary vane technology.

This has been an incredible project for our students,” said Professor Riccardo Romagnoli, Director of the Academy of Fine Arts.Creating this calendar challenged the students’ creativity and allowed them to gain perspective into the labour market by working alongside a renowned international manufacturer. I want to thank Mattei for providing us with this opportunity.”

Claudio Gobbi, a Graphic Design Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts, helped to coordinate the project alongside Welcome, Mattei’s communications agency. Gobbi said the project, which allowed more than 40 art students to get involved, was stimulating and challenging.

The students were asked to interpret the topic of rotative dynamics in relation to the element of air, but still allowed the students to have freedom of expression,” said Gobbi.
Each year, Ing. Enea Mattei S.p.A. takes a vested interest in the talent of young students through various internship opportunities and the creation of new cultural and formative projects, like the 2016 Calendar.

We were really pleased with the originality and beauty of the works submitted,” said Massimo Comina, Chief Commercial Officer of Ing. Enea Mattei.I assure you, it was not easy to select the 12 works to be included in the calendar. We are confident that this experience has been a special opportunity for the students to approach the labour market.”

Within the several creative projects submitted by the students of the Academy, the works that have been picked were the ones characterized by more expressiveness and originality, but that were also coherent with the briefing provided.
