MAXIMA SERIES HIGH-EFFICIENCY AIR COMPRESSORS ARE MATTEI'S INNOVATIVE SOLUTION FOR ENERGY SAVINGS

Maxima by Mattei, a leader for over 90 years in the sector of high energy efficiency rotary vane air compressors for industrial use, is the ideal product range for applications that require air in a constant, prolonged manner, even round the clock. These solutions are able to limit energy consumption and at the same time provide maximum reliability and durability.

Maxima is the first single-stage rotary vane compressor that provides the same energy efficiency as a two-stage machine thanks to its unique, unrivalled technology developed by Mattei, which ensures better air tightness and a rotational speed of the pumping unit that, in the 50 Hz version, reaches only 1,000 rpm. Its outstanding performances are due to the nature of the rotary vane compressor: a 1:1 ratio between the speed of the electric motor and the pumping unit, no overhaul of moving metal parts, a reduced number of construction components and, as a result, low maintenance costs.

Finally, its low rotational speed makes operation of Maxima extremely secure and silent, with limited noise levels. Just 69 dB(A) with the 110 kW model, for instance.

The series has been designed to offer, in full load conditions, the best possible efficiency of the motor and the compressor, in terms both of air flow actually delivered and of specific energy, up to 5.4 kW/m³/min. This value, among the lowest levels in the category, translates to a power savings of up to 35% compared to a traditional solution. A significant figure if one considers that electricity consumption accounts for 80% of the operating costs of a compressor.

2011_MaximaMaxima offers solutions with powers ranging from 30 to 160 kW and flow rates from 6.45 m³/min to 32.15 m³/min at a working pressure of 7.5 bar.

The range is proposed with the exclusive MaestroXS electronic controller, the programmable system by Mattei for monitoring operation and anomalies, even remotely. In the case of several compressors connected with each other it is possible to program one of the units as master of the installation, a configuration that eliminates the added costs of installing a superior device.

The Maxima range is comprised of the following models: Maxima 30, Maxima 55, Maxima 75, Maxima 110 and Maxima 160.

The first three variants, with the compression unit directly coupled to a six-pole electric motor, are equipped with a special modulating proportional intake valve that automatically adapts the delivered air flow to what is effectively requested by the system.
Also a PLUS version is available with an integrated refrigerated air dryer that uses environment-friendly R-410A refrigerant and is ideal in operating conditions with high humidity levels.

Maxima 110 and Maxima 160 are instead equipped with two separate compression units, which also rotate at a speed of just 1,000 rpm and are driven by a single high-efficiency four-pole electric motor.

The compression units of the entire series are designed by Mattei to reach 100,000 hours of operation.

In addition, Maxima features an innovative adaptable cooling system that makes it possible to keep the internal temperature of the machinery constant thanks to a two-speed electric fan that is sensitive to heat variations. The concrete advantage of this device consists in its ability to cool the installation, in normal operating conditions, while turning at a lower speed and consequently reducing energy consumption.

Maxima can be completed with kits for energy recovery and the treatment of compressed air, such as heat recovery, water-oil separator, and condensate separator and drain. The first, integrated in the cooling system, makes it possible to recover up to 80% of the thermal energy produced by the compressor, which is used to heat water for industrial or sanitary uses.

The use of a water-oil separator and of a condensate separator and drain instead contributes to ensure a higher quality of the air, making it cleaner and drier. This avoids deterioration of the components, enabling optimum overall operation of the entire installation.
