These dryers utilize desiccant beads that are designed to attract water vapor onto their surface to dry the air and then, release the water vapor back into the ambient to regenerate the desiccant beads for continued service. Available in “heatless”, “heated purge” and “blower purge” construction, they dehydrate the air stream down to -100˚F / -73˚C. Heatless dryers are the most economical to purchase but the least economical to operate. Blower purge dryers are the costliest to purchase but the least costly to operate. Heated purge dryers are right in the middle in terms of purchase price and operating cost. Each design is engineered to provide for long service life.
Ambient air contains moisture (relative humidity) that concentrates as air is compressed. The adsorption dryers remove the moisture as a vapor in preventing it from becoming a liquid in your air system. This super dry compressed air protects your products and processes from the unwanted effects of even a little bit of moisture that could wreak havoc in your air system if left unchecked. Desiccant style air dryers maximize productivity and minimize downstream contamination.
Mattei offers five variations ranges of adsorption air dryer products:
Refrigerated style (dew points to +37˚F / 3˚C) for the conversion of water vapor into a liquid.
For the removal or particulates, liquid oil or water, lubricants in an aerosol or vapor state.
Oil/Water separators for treating condensate, condensate drains for the removal of liquids, air receiver tanks for the efficient operation of your air system.
